OH~ Thanks to a fateful encounter with his girlfriend Amelia Woolley, Niall Horan created a hit song – “Dinner Party”.
Niall Horan’s Meet-Cute with Girlfriend Amelia Woolley Inspired “Dinner Party”
The former The Voice Coach peeled back the curtain on his personal life in his chat with Jimmy Fallon.
Niall Horan is celebrating the release of his fourth studio album, Dinner Party — and in honor of that impressive career milestone, the former Voice Coach stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on June 10. Horan and Jimmy Fallon’s catchup session touched on the way album’s title, and the lead single of the same name, are a direct reference to how Horan met his girlfriend, Amelia Woolley.

Niall Horan met girlfriend Amelia Wooley at a dinner party—well, “drinks party”
“I met my girlfriend at a dinner party — more of a drinks party, to be honest with you,” Horan told Jimmy Fallon. “There was food there, but yeah… it felt compelling, the evening. So I was like, I need to write a ‘Say what you see when you think of that night’ kind of song.”
The lyrics to “Dinner Party” contain references to a game the two played during that first meeting, involving picking cereal boxes up with your teeth, which (of course) caused Fallon to break out a box of Honey Nut Cheerios and demonstrate the game to everyone watching at home.

Horan and Wooley have been romantically linked since 2020, and the singer went on the record to Entertainment Tonight Canada that she immediately inspired him to write “happier” love songs beginning with his 2023 studio album, The Show.
When Fallon asked if Woolley is aware that Horan still writes songs about her, the star had a pitch-perfect answer:
“I hope so — she still lives in my house,” he answered, as the audience cracked up.

But Horan gushing over his significant other wasn’t the only highlight from the star’s memorable Tonight Show visit. He also made a surprising confession about a recent live show snafu.
Niall Horan almost forgot 1D’s “Steal My Girl” lyrics at Wembley

On June 6, Horan played the Capital FM Summertime Ball at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium, and in addition to performing songs off his new album like “Dinner Party” and “Tastes So Good,” and old favorites like “Slow Hands,” the star also included a cover of One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” in his setlist.
Horan was a member of the pop supergroup from 2010 to 2015 before the band dissolved, with Horan focusing on his solo career.
As it turns out, Horan’s “Steal My Girl” performance at Wembley made him come to a shocking realization — while he was singing.
“Literally, as I was singing the first verse, I was like, ‘I have never sung this first verse before,'” he revealed. “Because I’ve only ever sung my part, so I don’t think I’ve ever sung any of those verses before, and here I was, in front of 80,000 people going, ‘Oh crap, I better not forget the words.'”
“Did you forget the words?” Fallon asked.
“No, no, I did alright — well, to be honest, even if I did, they probably would have sung it,” he said, referring to the 80,000 strong who packed Wembley Stadium that day. “It was loud in there.”
