Keith Urban is back with new music, and his fans are absolutely loving it.
The Aussie-Kiwi musician has no doubt had a difficult year so far after his divorce from Nicole Kidman was finalised in January.
News of their split after 19 years of marriage was first confirmed in September, and the two have been navigating their solo lives very differently ever since.
Nicole has been keeping busy with projects and hitting the red carpet, while Keith has been largely lying low.
But the 58-year-old released his latest album, Flow State, on Friday, which is his first since 2024’s High.
“I never thought I would release an album of yacht rock covers, but this record found me and raised its hand,” Keith said on Instagram.
“This album is intended to bring escapism…to help you look up and see a blue sky.
“Play it at the beach, on the boat (of course), at the backyard barbecue with your family and friends…wherever and whenever you need a moment to exhale.”
Yacht rock was one of the commercially successful genres from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, but has recently seen a resurgence in recent years.

Keith Urban knows this is a very different musical avenue but fans are loving it
Flow State is Keith’s 13th album, and it marks a huge shift in his nearly 40-year career.
He first teased the album at the Country Radio Seminar earlier this year, and he acknowledged how different it was for him.
“It’s the first time I’ve done an album of covers,” he said. “There is one original on the record. It’s a thematic record…yacht rock songs. You think I’m kidding? I’m not kidding.”
The album features guest appearances from Little Big Town, Michael McDonald, and John Mayer.
It looks like the gamble has paid off for him as his fans have been absolutely lapping it up since it debuted.
He’s uploaded tracks to YouTube, and they have been flooded with comments from people cheering Kieth on.

“All of these cover songs are CRAZY good. Album of the year…and it’s only June,” said one.
“You are making my whole year with this album,” added another.
“I would NEVER normally listen to Keith Urban’s usual music, but these latest songs are thoroughly enjoyable and his interpretation magical,” wrote a third.
Keith still ‘finding his footing’ post Nicole Kidman divorce
Keith had one of his first major public appearances since his split with Nicole last month for the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards in Las Vegas.
Woman’s Day said the country music star looked like a man “still finding his footing”.
But, it appears he is surrounded by good people.
An insider told the National Examiner that Keith has been spending a lot of time at his Nashville home in the wake of the divorce.
“The thing with Nashville is it’s a very small town,” the source said.
“People go way back and have all sorts of overlap in connections and they do tend to support their own.”
“The Nashville community is rallying around Keith. They are his people and standing behind him, which is why Nicole hasn’t spent much time there since the divorce. She’s really not very welcome there anymore.”
