There appears to be trouble in paradise after Kid Rock failed to publicly wish Donald Trump a happy birthday on Sunday.
Trump turned 80 on June 14, celebrating his birthday by hosting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House. The president invited 5,000 people to the event, with family members such as Melania Trump, Barron Trump, and newlyweds Donald Jr. and Bettina Trump being in attendance.
Another person from Trump’s inner circle who was seen at UFC Freedom 250 was Kid Rock, but unlike in previous fights, the musician wasn’t sitting near the president, nor was he photographed with him.
This might not be surprising, considering Kid Rock failed to share a public message wishing the president a happy birthday.
In 2025, Kid Rock shared a tribute on his social media for the president and the musician’s son, who shares Trump’s birthday. In the post, he wrote, “Happy birthday to my son @robertjames4real and @realdonaldtrump! Will be celebrating with you both in spirit on this very special Flag Day! Let Freedom Ring, God bless you both, and God Bless America!” with an American flag emoji.

However, this year, Kid Rock was silent on social media, not even posting about his time at UFC Freedom 250, let alone the president.
Furthermore, when asked by TMZ what Kid Rock got Trump for his birthday, he didn’t respond. He also stayed silent when the reporter asked him if he had “sent the president a gift or a text,” further adding fuel to the fire.
Donald Trump also didn’t choose Kid Rock as the musical performer at the event, selecting Zac Brown instead. This mirrors the administration’s decision not to add Kid Rock to the Great American State Fair concert line-up.
Originally, names such as Flo Rida, Martina McBride, and Bret Michaels were reported to be performing at the event. However, due to most stars dropping out or claiming they were never booked, the schedule has been changed.
Because the opening night concert lineup unraveled, Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the musical kickoff would be replaced by a massive “Make America Great Again” Rally on June 24.
Instead of the originally planned rock and country sets, Trump himself will headline the kickoff night alongside performances by Lee Greenwood and operatic tenor Christopher Macchio.
It’s also alleged that Kid Rock won’t be performing due to scheduling conflicts with the Rock the Country festival. However, according to the website, Kid Rock is not performing at the event for most of June and July.
